089 Lunatic(scam ?)

Got a few missed calls last week from 089 no. rang and said I had a missed call and before I could say anymore a girl started shouting about telling me yesterday to pay 20 euro deposit, that she was not Romanian and she wanted her money,I tried to explain she had wrong number( even though I had 3 missed calls from her)but she just got louder and more aggressive, said she was going to the Guards to report my number and she was really going to enjoy fu**** up my life, then she got louder and hung up.Rang her back to try to explain she had wrong number, but this time she wanted 40 euro. Anyone come across this before? Only 3 girls have my number and nobody else, and she definitely was not one of the 3 ladies.

If you're good friends with an escort, who you trust, you could PM her the number and ask her to check Ugly Mugs, as the number may have been reported before.

Beware.

Some 089 numbers were once used as “premium” rate numbers in the UK. [Sex line numbers etc.]
Most 089 numbers are legit (sim cards bought from Tesco or Asda are usually 089).

Well known scam, phone up random numbers from a premium number and some will ring back thinking it is a legit missed call and watch the (premium) money roll in.

Not saying this is the case here but just be aware.

Don't answer the number or if you accidentally do cut it off immediately.
If it persists, change your own number.
Likely you won't hear from it again.

No was not reported, but I have it sorted and will not be getting anymore calls, phone is off.
