You wrote"nearly every organisation in the state has it origins with the ira. And to keep harping on about the civil war to justify present sf/ira murderers that are running for election at the moment is just crass in the extreme." so those parties are to be excused their connections with a violent organisation but sinn fein are to be held to different standards? Two faced much?
The oira engaged in murder, surely that is the only criteria needed for exclusion by your rules.
As for your last line, what exactly do you think the political fallout would have been? It wouldn't have hurt sinn fein in the slightest. The party to suffer would have been the dup as westminister would have been forced to take control ( not by choice ) and then the north would have been run more along uk lines which the dup would hate. No chance of flags flying, same sex marriages allowed, blood donations from the gay community etc.

I am not trying to change your mind about sinn fein by the way, i just get tired of seeing the same tired old cliches being used to attack them and the other parties being let of lightly, when they are guilty of more recent crimes.
i dont get your reasoning at all here, bit looney it is and I totally agree with IDF, are you really that naive? they are the same really, its just a front, lets call a spade a spade and be done with it

It is not exactly rocket science is it, the republican movement had an armed wing, The ira and a political wing, sinn fein. One movement with two branches using different methods to achieve the same goal.

When the distance between faith and fear become closer.
    There lies a problem.
A weak politician, feeds on fear, a strong politician, believes in others.
SF here like Trump Stateside, both appeal to a
negativity within the electorate, still concencess will never be a match for real leadership.
Is it not better to be inspired rather than appeased.

Your deluded, sinn fein are trying to implement reform to help those on lower incomes. Fg are trying to attack sinn fein by saying, that with sinn fein in power, in fact with any party other than them the economy will collapse. Now that is trying to inspire fear. I have no idea if sinn fein will be any good if they ever get into power. but the rape of irish taxpayers by ff and fg cannot be the preffered option surely.

    Wow.

A guy starts a thread drawing attention to what an escort is doing above and beyond the call of duty and the thread gets dragged to the gutter by ... stupidity

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
It's more about ideplogical hatred of The Special Criminal Court, than anything else! BTW I support keeping the SCC, until we don't need it any more, which will be never!
    Ride them on the beaches!
