I think you are not aware of the facts.
Currently a Luas driver starts on €32k rising to €42k
With benefits and if this pay increase is agreed to these semi literate troglodytes, they would earn €73k.
This is nothing short of a fucking joke.
I know friends with Masters not earning that.
It's not about knocking anyone.
But this pay claim is simply lunacy

Look there is no way they are going to get a 50% pay rise but no harm to start high as they haven't had a rise in 5 years and my point is why are ye so upset with a worker getting a big pay rise? Is it begrudgery cos if it is ye would want to get over it . 42K after so many years service is a handy wage but I wouldn't say it is a big wage, and if they got 70k a year all the better as there are lots of former politicians and bankers getting 150k per year for doing fuck all.
For driving a tram?
I don't want to pay €5 on the Luas to get into town
I'm sorry we will have to agree to disagree.
They are currently paid the same as skilled tradesman, real working men as you referred to.
They did a 4 years apprenticeship.
Luas driver's spend a morning learning the buttons.
Give me a break.
They are currently the best paid in Europe
Its idiotic, and an insult to the real working men
And most of the country would have considered themselves lucky if their pay remained the same over the past 5 years. Those of us in the real world took a serious bath.

For driving a Tram?? Well that doesn't even deserve a reply. As for the skilled tradesmen are the the guys that did all the great workmanship during the celtic tiger, and who wouldn't work for less than £2000 a week.
i went to luas the other day & only realised when i saw no people there
all they do is press a button ffs
Most Irish are monkeys with mallets who all could be easily replaced.
Asians would probably do any Irish job for a quarter the wage and be a better, more efficient worker.
And that goes from the Tea Shock to a street sweeper.
And the worst parasites are seated at office desks, sometimes whiling away their time on the internet.

Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.
Lot of Luas driver bashing here.
Maybe you guys should walk a mile in their shoes.
Don't know much about this myself but any job where you have to deal with Joe whingebag public should pay more than minimum wage.
Personally I blame the unions which can often cause more problems than they solve.
