You're right ................. I do hold your rookie status against you for several reasons but the main one is the fact that this site is literally riddled with multiple usernames so you could be anybody (even a moderator) just trying to have a pop .............. if not then you are still just a "rookie" who doesn't know the history of this site.
Either way I don't put any value in your opinion at this stage, sorry.

Deleting threads is no way to mod a site editing out insults or threats is fine perhaps even locking it for a day or 2 till tempers calm but just deleting a whole thread because of a couple of posts is proving to people that think mods are a bad idea that at the very least the choice of mods has been a bad idea.

Its done of every single site around.Find one and name one that doesnt do it.The very fact that you say "tempers" means that there was aprob with insults and nasties and therefore a need to take the action taken.

No not to the extent you have indulged in it and certainly not after days, multiple posts and discussion I have never seen it on any serious site. Obviously if the first post seriously breached rules then that would be a reason to delete a thread early on but certainly I have never seen a whole thread deleted because someone posting in the thread breached the rules.

I never said that there was a need for no action it is the action you are taking that is wrong you don't delete a thread because some people said something nasty there is no need for it. you have multiple options like editing, warning , locking etc .

Apart from anything else you are deleting the record of the forum

I know patricia has backed you up in your thread deletions and I would not expect her to do anything else this early but seriously you have dived in off the deep end and your behaviour is inexplicable for someone trying to convince us that mods will improve the site.

What is a mockery of mods it seems that you are more concerned with not appearing foolish than in modding the site correctly so that anything that ruffles your feathers gets deleted for the flimiest of reasons.
All you are succeeding in doing is proving the point for Paws this site does not need a heavy handed approach to moderating it tips along nicely most of the time and I can see no valid reason for the thread deletions.
You are not upholding the integrity of the site the attraction of this place is that people can talk about things and say things that would not be tolerated or they could not talk about elsewhere. This is not the home knitting website its an adult site and its time you woke up and started treating the users here as Adults. And safe your smarmy when they start behaving like adults bollix.

Yes Luther, it was one of my famous predictions (which generally are pretty much on the mark) couched in rather oblique language. Bit of a Nostradamus post, but not as poetic as the great master would have put it.
