  1. Default

Its seems to me that personal opinion has been allowed in the decision making process.Old void religious based opinion has no place in the laws of this country or any country on the face of the planet.

I am very reliably informed there will be no time for this law to be introduced, before the Dáil ends and it collapses with it! However, they will try again in the next Dáil with perhaps even a more insane version of it! However, The Northern Ireland version of it thanks to Laura may already be gone at that stage, thus giving it less impetus to be introduced here!

The case is initially being heard in The Belfast High Court. My feeling is that if it goes to Europe eventually, it would be the court of human rights that will be the court to throw it out! As with Water charges, the EU won't help as it wants them, Re sex work, The last European parliament voted to support Mary Honeyball's (From The British Labour Party) proposal to support The Insane Swedish Model, though it only has a 'moral' effect, that's the direction those shitbags are now leaning towards! BTW, Mary Honeyball MEP has publicly stated that practicising Catholics should be barred from holding ministerial office because they are likely to be untrustworthy on the abortion issue, i.e. might disagree with her, not even The DUP would hold this view and it just goes to show you the level she is at!
BTW in that EU Parliament every Irish MEP except The Ulster Unionist disgraced themselves by supporting the anti sex worker proposal and that included the young bald man claiming to be a Socialist, now a T.D.
In the current EU Parliament, I'm sure Ming would definitely oppose it at least!

The second reading is scheduled for Thursday. Hopefully Dail disolved by then.

If TDs etc come knocking on your door ask them why the crimilisation of the person who pays for sex was lumped together with the sexual explitation of children including child porn & the trafficating of people for sex. The Minister delayed the urgent part of the legislation(I.e. the children part) by lumping them all together.

We all need to challenge this and other nanny state legislation with the election candidates as they knock on our doors over the next few weeks . Perhaps a threat to never vote FG or Lab again over this interference in an adults sex life will wake these lowlifes up. Without our vote they are nothing. Now is our last chance , so Balls Up lads and don't be shy on the door step (unless the Mrs is with you) . But even the ladies in our lives should be concerned by this legislation, it prevents them ever entering the profession as their potential customers are criminalised.

"Moral disapproval should never be the basis for State legislation" -- so said Sandra Day O'Connor in so many

words some time ago , -- which I repeated in the Committee Meeting some three years ago .

Even the blind can see : this new law proposal has absolutely nothing to do with saving / helping the

disadvantaged , the 'victims' ! It has no aim to punish traffickers : ye all already have laws against that !

All it'd need is Enforcing The Law that is already on the books !

This new bit is based on Moral Disapproval of prostitution as a whole , and until the whole of society is better

informed on the subject , better educated and cultured in general (not talking down on anyone , we have

same prob in US -- look at Trump Rising ) , demagogues and bigots will rule the day and unfortunately ,

set the Law of the Land x
