It's not a foregone conclusion that being on this site is going to make you a target when the law changes if that is where you are going with that?
It is a useful discussion though.
Did E-I give the guards the 250 ip addresses associated with his pseudonym?
In this case I would commend them for doing so. He was scum who deserved what he got, and more. It's a shame he wasn't named imo as he threatened to expose the escort so turnabout seems fair play.
But in future if the law changes and seeing an escort becomes a crime, will E-I give the guards or psni ip addresses of members here if they wish to investigate? Reviewing would be an admission of a crime after all, already is up North.
Will there be a clearout of ip address history and allow members to use a proxy server if they did wish to continue reviewing?

I also noted the part of the article that mentions the fact that the guy is/was a registered poster, and presumably a reviewer.

I wonder, does E-I staff know what user name this bastard was using? Floki mentioned about the articles not 'naming and shaming', but maybe if E-I at least knows what his user name here was, perhaps we can do our own version of 'name and shame'.

If there is an investigation going on and the police contacts E-I, the site must cooperate with what they have, ip addresses in this case.

Yes, that's what I was wondering.
So if after the law change we met, I left a review and though we were both fine with what happened, the guards decided to investigate and prosecute me, then E-I would fully cooperate by giving ip address etc.
Would E-I being based in Spain or somewhere else complicate matters or does E-I have any other plans?

Let's not blow this out of proportion, why would the guards suddenly decide to investigate & prosecute you? If both parties were fine with what happened & there was no case or complaint lodged against you, end of story. The only reason why this guy was investigated was that he was threatening the escort. The guards have got enough crime to investigate rather than looking into every review submitted.

Thanks Sandy, I'm really not trying to blow anything out of proportion or be in any way hysterical. I'm just interested in the process that events would take.
Say two months after the law change a powerful individual or lobby objected to a group of girls working as escorts in a particular place. They applied pressure to the minister for justice, and they in turn told the guards to be seen to doing something. So the guards ask E-I for the ip addresses of the latest 50 reviewers, or top 50 or tom rambo What would happen?
It's unlikely, but could happen, be triggered by an expose or a trafficking case for example. I'm interested, not trying to stir up hysteria.

They are more likely to spend their time and resources dealing with residential complaints and those that are working blatantly without discretion. They won't need to go looking for it.
