Perhaps not for as long as you fear...dependant on whether the Irish electorate is brave enough to twice shout it's true name.
If it's any consolation I gave myself 5 whole months of being looked after by the state before I realised twas better to risk being a self employed 'entertainer', it truly as shit as you believe.
I also did one of those proper jobs fer sake of my cv.
Never again.

What if "It's Raining Men" and 'Let the bodies hit the floor' are both about the same event but from different perspectives 🤔

For me I didn't want my Son to grow up thinking it was okay not to work. Too many young people unemployed and don't know any different and never seen any different. I wanted him to see that working was the way to go. He may not have known what I was doing, but he knew I was going out each day and putting food on the table and paying the bills and that mattered to me.
I've always been a grafter and always will be. I believe there are others that need government money far more than me, like people with disabilities and illness. While I have my health and my wit about me, I will always support myself where I can. I guess it was just the way I was brought up and I wanted my Son to have the same ethos in life.
lol @ entertainer. It really shouldn't be a risk at all, but people do like to judge don't they x

kate, you make out like you are struggling, there are not many jobs where you get paid 120 euros for half an hours work, i'm in college and get paid 4.50 euro an hour for evening and weekend work,
I'm not complaining as i'm don't mind as its only temporary and know alot people much worse off than me, most people are not living comfortably but just surviving from day to day.

Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.
I was struggling and I've done what you are doing now. I worked two jobs when I was in Uni and went through a divorce and was looking after a pre-school. I never complained either, but the up shot of it is that I couldn't earn enough to pay the mortgage and got into debt. This job has helped me sort all that out, so yay!!!! Thank God I didn't lose the house when my Son needed stability and to pass his exams.
Now if you are paying a mortgage and responsible for bringing up a child by yourself on that wage, you have my complete empathy and understanding, because I know how hard that is and it's a shame you will never be able to bridge that gap doing what I am doing now, because it has been a life line for me. I don't actually remember complaining, but I was empathising about how hard it must be for those that are in a worse position than I was in, maybe like yourself?
Well done for managing on what you earn with all the responsibility you must have. I applaud you sir!
