Fuck you're right Tony, 5 over after 3. 65th place out of 66 out on the course. Bookies will be laughing anyway.

At least Shane Lowry is at the other end of the leader board.

It's a shock he was 8/1 fav he probably will not make the cut. It look wide open tournament.

No real shock to me as his head is so far up his ass I’m surprised he is still playing, Never took to him but had great talent but not the persona to go with it .. he talks a good game these days , hopefully Lowry will keep it going..

Looks like quite a few big names will not be around for the weekend.. McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and the defending champion Francesco Molinari all look likely to miss the cut. Shane Lowry is obviously in contention and there was satisfactory round for Mallow amateur James Sugrue. Brooks Koepka, IMO the favourite to lift the Claret Jug, is nicely placed two shots off the lead at -3.

I would think the hype and expectation of being the local favourite got to him. Anyway he might as well go for it tomorrow even though he may need to match the course record 61 that he shot at Portrush as an amateur to have any hope at all of making the cut.

Unfortunately Lowry is prone to shooting a bad round in most tournaments lately and I fear that it will happen again this time. I would be delighted to be proved wrong so let`s see what happens.
