    Lowry apart, it hasn`t been a great Open for the Irish contingent. G-Mac just making the cut by the skin of his teeth and McIllroy, Clarke and Harrington all missing out along with Mallow amateur James Sugrue. As I stated yesterday, I would be fearful that Lowry will have his regular one bad round over the weekend but let`s wait and see. A lot of big guns still within striking distance of the lead.

    I’d give your pick Rose a great chance now after 2 rounds. I have backed him in 2 other majors this year and when he gets his game going as good as anyone. I have Speith at 35/1 another golfer who on his day can be great.. it will all go down to back 9 on Sunday when pressure gets to them..
