McIlroy finishes the tournament on +6 and a share of 9th place. Another Major goes by without a victory for him and you would wonder when or if he will win another one again.

Wolff has a double bogey on the 16th to drop back to level par and DeChambeau now has a 6 shot lead. It should be a procession to victory for him over the last 2 holes.

Oosthuizen finishes on +2 and is the highest placed non American golfer. McIlroy does finish as the highest placed European golfer not that it will be much consolation to him.

DeChambeau wins the US Open on a score of -6 and becomes another first time Major winner. He is a deserved champion being the only golfer to finish on an under par score. Can he follow up this victory in the rescheduled Masters in mid November?

There have now been 4 different 1st time champions in the last 4 Majors. Will this trend continue in the Masters in mid November or will there be a repeat champion there? Time will tell.

Is he definitely taking part? I know McIlroy and McDowell have pulled out of the tournament.

Yes Shane Lowry definitely taking part. McDowell is playing in the USA this week in tournament that he won last year.
