Justin Thomas, who won the USPGA in 2017, has pulled out of this years championship due to a wrist injury.

Who know with Rory I am give him skip this week good luck to him. Its disappointing he not playing the Irish Open. I Just think Brooks Koepka is in good form.

It seems strange that there is a major in May and this championship was last held only 9 months ago but there we are. Anyway Brooks Koepka, the defending champion, is the 9/1 joint favourite along with Dustin Johnson to win at Bethpage. McIlroy is 10/1 and Tiger Woods is priced at 11/1. Surprisingly Francesco Molinari is at 22/1 which seems very generous. Rickie Fowler has come close to winning a major several times in the past but has always come up short. Maybe this time he will finally go all the way.

We heard that before the last Olympics in Rio and that didn`t work out too well did it? I will believe that he will represent Ireland when/if he tees off in Tokyo next year and not before then. Same goes for Shane Lowry by the way.
