The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a novella, first published in 1886, written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson.
After some time, the plot became simplified and misrepresented as merely good versus evil.
In the simplified plot, there are two personalities within Dr. Jekyll, one apparently good and the other evil.
"Jekyll and Hyde" has become a part of the language, meaning a person who is vastly different in character from one situation to the next.
