I will always support the escorts prerogative to refuse any client , some are conflating this with discrimination .

Yes they have the right to refuse a client and it may or may not be discrimination depending on the reason for refusing.

Refusing a client based on race and therein characteristics being ascribed to an individual based on their race is discrimination clearly.

But escorts still have the right to refuse anyone, why ? Cos escorts have rights too..... like the right to bodily integrity and if there is a hierarchy of human rights (which is debatable itself) this right would most probably be higher than the right not to be discriminated against.

Of course they should be able to refuse anyone.

And the last thing I would want to do would be to 'spend time' with someone who would have that choice removed as I'm sure it would be a poor experience for both parties.

The answer is of course Yes, my point here is to highlight to people the prejudice which exists within themselves and that which is tacitly approved my a large number within society. The most nefarious aspect of this is the 'good people' that support this. You know the type, they like Bob Marley, have a Muhammed Ali poster on their wall, think Mandela was a great man but in real life turn a blind eye !!

The lack of empathy and self awareness is stunning.

Someone raised the example of a bar being able to choose who they serve but obviously it is an offence for them to refuse solely on the basis of race, nationality etc. However, it's not really a valid comparison. Firstly an escort does not have protection under the law so it's not reasonable to extend legal provision around the provision of services to them. Secondly, the nature of the service being provided is such that it comes into conflict with other legal provisions around consent. Thirdly, and most importantly, it's a very intimate service and that in itself would be enough to merit an exemption from the need to provide any reasons for refusal.
