    The way Frank's father used it was to justify doing things (churning) to survive. Instead of giving up, he kept doing something or the other, struggling instead of giving up.

    it was for people who have seen the movie, not an in joke exactly but something to remember....not google, if you saw the movie and you remembered that lil powerfull story in it, you were part of the gang as such if you didnt then it wasnt for you
