I got a text from a lady once — I had made a booking to 10pm that night. She asked if I was definitely going to see her — I thought this was a tad odd as I had seen her before and I always turned up on time. I asked her why she was asking and she replied that if I wasn't going to go she would take an overnight booking.
I thought to myself if I say Im going for just an hour she will lose out on a lot of money and she probably won't be overly happy to see me. I told her to take the booking and I'd reschedule for another evening. She said no as I had booked first but I insisted that she take the overnight booking. Why lose out on €1200 because of my one hour booking?
She did take it and when I met her the following night she was extremely grateful
