A reasoned assessment of the situation you've just outlined would indicate that the fault lies within the Irish governing body and its accompanying politics, not with foreigners.

But racists will not see the reasoning in this, instead they'll see an excuse for their racism.

I have to agree with u Wolverine regarding the benefits system . Freedom of movement within the EU brought an influx of eastern Europeans here & Jaysus they know how to work the system. But EU law states that benefits must be paid to anyone living in the country as long as they are an EU citizen. Thing I can't understand is why there are so many Nigerians living in Drogheda & Dundalk- when did Nigeria join the EU ? These arrogant fucks know what they are entitled to & then some & the DEMAND their entitlements. We are to saft & the system is a joke. I don't like that prick Cameron over the water but I do agree with him tryin to change EU legislation regarding benefits been paid to other EU nationals. But then Enda says that he's asking too much!! He should be lookin the same. Fuckin joke the whole thing.

It is a challenge, for sure, but it is a problem that we are faced with. So what is to be done? Do you have a solution other than closing the borders? We see the result of that. Another 16 gone on Christmas Eve, including 6 children. These people are desperate, they will get on these coffin boats because they have no other choice.

Just the cost argument is a fallacy. All creditable surveys and analysis shows that immigration and migrant workers add a net positive to the economy. And it is the country of emigration that suffers. Do you recall the lamentation of the "brain drain" in Ireland not just in recent years but also in the 80's?

Nowhere this this more apparent than in the USA. And to continue on the cost argument - there seems to be no difficulty footing the cost of bombing and the war machine

I think all this talk of an invasion is overly alarmist. You discredit the intelligence and the integrity of existing countries to reject external and even internal pressures on secular policies. A country is either secular or it is not. As if Germany, France or Ireland are going to implement Sharia law? Do you honestly think this is possible? Let us also not forget that many, if not most of the Muslim-majority countries are politically secular. Of course, we must keep our politicians honest and the system intact. FFS, we can't even reverse water charges and the property tax, do you think we're going to implement Sharia law?

Europe is limping as it is.

Europe cannot socially / economically handle the influx of hundreds of thousands of people who are looking for handouts !

Now throw in cultural difference to the mix , throw in that the overwhelming majority of people arriving are military age

single men , etc.

There is No peaceful solution imo. A fearful prospect .

For language schools , for job training , for job placement , for healthcare , for schooling of the millions of new children ,

for cultural re-education program's for the Local (!!) people , for rape crisis Centers ;

: for every single 'refugee' that arrives , count an additional 10-20 'family members' automatically given residency .
