Celtic lose 2-1 to Ferencvaros and are out of the CL, the first time they have been knocked out of the competition in this round since 2005. They now drop into the 3rd qualifying round of the EL and should get through that match but still a very poor result for them tonight.

Hard to know why Celtic can't qualify as regularly for the Champions League group stage, as they did for the most part under Rodgers and Lennon's first spell, when they have much better finances nowadays due to increased transfer fees for the players they sell on like Tierney and Dembele. The standard of the other teams in their qualifying rounds has not improved much at all as well, possibly getting worse.

great draw for Shams, they must be gutted that there'll be no crowd, I wonder are they compensated financially by UEFA

I think we have a good crop of young players coming thru, the best their has been for a long time, I hope that Kenny plays a decent style of football, the vultures are waiting to come down on him for not being up to the job, he needs a couple of reasonable results over next few daysOriginally Posted by Ketchup

I suppose we have to hope for the best, I don’t know much about Bulgaria, but hopefully we can get a draw , Stephen Kenny has been very successful, we have to hope he can carry that success to a higher level, I think he will do ok , very exciting attacking options when everyone is fit
