Yeah that's good idea anything you can make yourself stay away from the gym stuff walk run cycle start easy and work up not too much at start you will hurt yourself or get pissed off. Good luck

Get smaller plates, don't add fruit to your diet but replace sugary, fatty foods with fruit. If you have to eat fast food, instead of burger and chips, just get the burger or the chips. Pick one day of the week that you treat yourself. Sunday is my pigout day. Gyms are not for everybody, I prefer to walk/cycle.
Following this advice, I stopped gaining weight, and even manage to lose a few pounds when I exercise.
