I would have to assume, that even under the new laws, being arrested would be quite rare. The possible reason the poor unfortunate was arrested in the north a month ago was because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time whist a brothel raid was being conducted, and the police being thorough and now knowing they have the power, arrested him too along with their intended victims the girls operating the brothel.

Remember, in the south until new laws are pushed through, you may NOT be arrested as you are currently doing nothing illegal.

But if you are arrested in the north here are a few tips:

DON’T PANIC.

Being arrested is easy, you just stay quiet and wait for them to let you out.

If you can, remember the arresting officers number and ask what it is that you are being arrested for.

You don’t have to tell the police anything except your name and address.

Don’t sign anything except the list of your belongings.

If they ask you anything (especially if you have an interview) answer... "NO COMMENT"... leave all communication to your solicitor.

Information is power. Do NOT get into chat/discussion with them. What you work at or where you're staying etc is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. Shut up.

Do not be afraid that you may piss off the arresting officer by saying nothing. If you are arrested you are arrested, being nicely cooperative will not change this position but may incriminate you. Be civil yet silent.

Remember the old cliche "anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law..."

So even if caught with your trousers around your ankles ... admit to NOTHING...

To be honest, if you're a client of independent escorts (who don't work on the street), being there when a Brothel raid is carried out is probably the only way you'll end up getting arrested.

Practically speaking, Brothel raids are rare, and they're only really carried out when those at the location in question have incited complaints from the neighbors, or when it's kind of public knowledge that the place actually is a "brothel".
