I doubt if they would need to prove a direct money connection to you. That could only happen if they recorded the handing over. I think other things would make it "beyond reasonable doubt", like:

- presence of large quantities of condoms in different sizes.
- presence of sex toys / special outfits etc
- presence of unusually large quantities of cash.
- evidence of multiple male visitors who stay for 30-90 minutes.
- evidence of appointments from phones and/or laptop

With a few of those I don't think you have much chance of getting off if you fight it. They will also make it clear that an unsuccessful "not guilty" plea will be worse for you.

If caught I think I would be polite, ask for a lawyer, and admit / deny nothing.

The evidence you list there would indeed be very damning in a court but it still does not "prove" someone has paid for sex.

All that proves is guilty by association. Suppose the lady has a friend visiting - someone who they know in their private life who is not a punter! If the only evidence that was required was that which you list then the friend could be found guilty of paying for sex!

The same as say a repair man who might find himself in the apartment could also be convicted of paying for sex.

I'm sure there would have to be other evidence required to secure a conviction so as to avoid such people being convicted!

Could the ladies not just advertise that they are offering sexual favours for free but you must buy condoms from them at an exorbitant rate.

It is not illegal for consenting adults to have sex.

Somehow I doubt it would be so simple - having said that, I was at a private party once where beer was being served. The Guards arrived into the party over an unconnected incident. When they saw that pints were being pulled they said to the person who's party it was that they hoped the barman was charging rent on the glasses and giving the beer away free!

To charge for beer without a licence is of course illegal!

I'm not sure some of the posters here have grasped the idea of reasonable doubt. You aren't likely to be caught on the premises, but if you are, stories like these won't cut any ice.

Point here too is strange men entering and leaving the apartment with a short period of time, all apartments have cctv now and although not damning evidence in itself but when added to the others mentioned above its builds a good case

Guy: Is there a problem, Officer?

Officer: You were paying for sex.

Guy: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see some ID please?

Guy: I'd show you my driving license or Credit Cards but I don't have any.

Guy: No. Lost my Licence, 4 years ago for drunk driving and for driving without insurance. I don’t have a Credit Card because it was taken back for using it to buy large quantities of illegal drugs for resale.

Officer: I see....whats you car reg? I can get your details from that.

Guy: I don’t know the reg.

Officer: Why not?

Guy: I don’t have a car, I stole the car I used to drive here tonight.

Guy: His body parts are in plastic bags in the boot if you want to see. My three gangland friends are outside minding the car for me right now.

The Garda calls for back up. Within minutes 15 Gardai arrive outside the apartment including two armed Detectives and a Senior Garda. They lead you to your car. There is no one in the car. The Senior Officer opens the door and the Glove box.. There is no gun.

Guy: Is there a problem?

Senior Officer: One of my Garda colleagues told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner and that there was a gun in the glove box.

Guy: Murdered the owner? Gun? Stolen?

Senior Officer: Yes, could you open the boot of your car, please.

The guy opens the boot which is empty.

Senior Garda: Is this your car?

Guy: Yes, here are my insurance papers. The Senior Garda is quite stunned.

Senior Garda: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.

The Guy says the License is in the door pocket.

The Senior Garda looks in the door pocket and takes out the Driving Licence. He examines the license and looks quite puzzled.

Senior officer: Do you have a Credit Card?

You take your credit card from your wallet and show it to the Garda

Senior Garda: One of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, That there was a gun in the Glove Box and that you murdered and hacked up the owner and put the body in the boot. Whats going on here?

Guy: Your officer said all that? (Laughs) I bet the lying bastard also told you that my English Language Student was an escort and that I paid her for sex.
