: Will Austria implement same measures as we (US) have ?

-- imo eventually , yes they will .

As will Germany . And Slovenia. And Romania. And Czech Rep , and Slovakia . As will Italy and eventually Greece ??

As will all prosperous countries that are being targeted as an Endpoint for 'undocumented entry' .

    A solution ?

    Any ideas ? Xx

I think the problem lies in their own country, until it is stabilized the problem will not go away in any shape or form ,so unfortunately it sounds like war of some form or another, cant expect these countries to keep letting them in

Europe and the EU in particular should control their outer borders. Some entry but regulated entry should be allowed. EU. countries should act in concert and if necessary more northerly countries should support their southern neighbours with extra police or personnel or whatever. If this would ever happen is moot as the EU acts as a multiheaded monster pulling in different directions.
Agreements should be signed with countries like Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan that already have millions of refugees to try and keep these people in the middle East. These countries need material support like food, tents, clothing for these people and Europe should support this. If suitable refugee camps can be maintained in these countries, some of the excess washing up in Europe should be returned there.
Imposing a military solution on the Hornets nests of Syria and Iraq by the West won't happen. They will splutter on, on their own until they may eventually run out of steam, similar to the Lebanese civil war of over 2 decades ago.

    Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.

I agree , the root of the problem is in those faraway countries and the brutality /instability that is prevalent there now -

-- in no small part due to US and UK etc. intervention in local politics a decade / a century ago .. But how far are we

really willing to go back to be pointing fingers !? Ottoman Empire ?? Moors in Spain ? Etc.

Atm , imo , closing off Schengen Borders IS the answer !!

There's a procedure to claiming asylum : DO IT !

Imo Greece and Italy coastline should be actively protected , refugee boats turned back -- as heartbreaking

    as it may be .

: it is not the 3 year old's fault that he is in that boat , eventually drowning !! It is the fault of the parent not taking due

    precaution .

I understand desperation . I've seen it FirstHand , what more , I've gone without food and shelter at a time .

Imo in these cases poor little kids are used as Props and nothing more !! : infants tossed over a border fence

to break their neck or crash their skull !!?? For a WorldWide PhotoOp !!!

This is a whole different kind of people we have coming in , and unless Schengen is actively protected ,

Old World Borders and border checks WILL come back in . : no more Free Movement in the EU !

: This will mean incalculable tax on within-EU product transport - for example .

You like your Spanish Tomatoes in January ? You won't have it !

You like affordable and available xyz ? Nope , sorry , no can do !

I think people do not fully realise the implications of this current 'crisis' . [and I'm mentioning only short term issues] .

(As an aside , poor taste and all , I'm looking forward to filling up my Passport with Austrian , German , Swiss , Belgian ,

French , Netherlands , UK .... etc. Border STAMPS on my way back !

Feel like straight out of a 70's movie x
