I only logon when I’m totally bored, have a read for 20-30 mins, maybe post a bit, and then get back to reality.
I don’t see why moderators such as Doc, Benin, Highwayman, or any of the previous UNPAID volunteers, should have been needed,
when EI could easily afford to pay good rates to have it done properly and impartially, but the truth is they don’t care about members or escorts,
as long as the money is rolling in from the advertising. I’m actually surprised Doc stuck it out for as long as he did!!!!!
The current EI management team aren’t really interested in moderating unless you actually report a post so, as they don’t work outside office hours,
the reported post won’t be dealt with for up to 12-24 hours. It seems to me anyway that EI glory in letting the bitching & trolling carry on through
the evening/night, as it creates activity that brings traffic to their website.
I saw a bit of what was posted last night and, while what followed was a completely over the top attack, the thread that was started by the OP seemed to me
to be just another one of those ‘look at me, aren’t I clever’ sort of threads, that didn’t have a real topic as such. It backfired spectacularly but, as someone
else already commented, you reap what you sow. If you constantly seek attention, you will, at some point, get unwanted, and possibly unwarranted, attention.
There has been a clique on the forum that have pretty much ruled the roost for quite some time, working on the premise that there’s no such thing as bad publicity,
building up a fan club that has probably left other escorts feeling like there’s no point posting, as they will be swamped by the ‘cool gang’ and their supporters.
Having said all of the above, there shouldn’t really be the necessity to moderate any adult forum, as it should be expected that adults would know
how to behave and interact with other adults. When I first started posting on EI, it was to have a bit of banter with other members and flirt with the escorts,
gain some understanding of the industry, and get a feel for lady behind the advertising pictures. I have, as result, met some lovely people that have made
my life so much better.
Sadly, the internet is full of keyboard warriors that don’t seem to be accountable for the potential pain they may cause by the things they write.
I love it when I hear of some clown being pursued by the authorities after tweeting something vile about someone else.
If EI don’t want to pay for 24 hour moderation, then we’re all going to just have to accept that sometimes idiots will post their crap.
Things that can be done if there isn’t going to be late night moderation are the following:
Reporting posts, without feeding the trolls. Ignore them so they don’t get the extra pleasure of a reaction.
Trial run of a ‘read only’ period between midnight and 6.00am.
All new registrations cannot post between the hours of midnight and 6.00am, or maybe give them a read-only period for the first month.
None of the above will stop the trolls, but it may frustrate them enough to reduce the amount of trolling that occurs.
By the way, this place is actually a lot less volatile than it was when I started reading it in 2006, and it was a year before I registered,
and that was to leave my first review. Apologies for the long winded post, for those that read it until the end.
