What are some of the most memorable sentences you have read and that have stayed with you?
I was captivated by Kafka at a young age and terrified by The Trial with its
"Someone must have been telling lies about Josef K., he knew he had done nothing wrong but, one morning, he was arrested." opening line
Then there is Joyce of course, and his beautiful line
"He was alone. He was unheeded, happy, and near to the wild heart of life."
I often think of that when out hill walking
and, rather appropriately for this forum
"If it wasn´t love, it was an addiction … never a pair of lips made me come back so much times for a kiss"
