Many of these people will have spent everything to get to Europe and have left horror behind so you can understand frustration (on all sides) and desperation.
The story's you hear from the Le Niamh and others are frightening, those crew have seen some horrors so you can only imaging what the people who decide to board those vessels are leaving to make the trip seem a better option.

My own personal view on the matter is they cease to become refugees and become economic migrants once they leave a country that there is no danger to their lives. Example being going from Syria to neighboring countries in fear of their lives is a refugee, not quite satisfied with the country and crossing the Mediterranean Sea to Italy or Greece and putting their lives at risk is an Economic migrant and should not be treated with the same sympathy. A lot of these so called refugees won't be happy until they are being housed and feed in the UK, Ireland or Germany. Fussy for a Refugee don't you think!!

However we need to do something about this crisis, and I would be in favor of supporting the charity organisations in setting up communes in neighboring countries that would allow for a smooth Repatriation process. Something along the lines of A World Aid style event would raise a lot of money and awareness as well.
Just realised I didn't put the link up

it's very sad what is happening now in Europe but Europeans are to blame for what is happening in their countries and in addition to this not all are just refugees who are fleeing war are many terrorists among them having false passports and pose as refugees forgotten what happened in Greece containers for refugees where or found only weapons and ammunition is not so simple even for Europe's citizens to receive anyone we all have family here, they would be more receptive and so will discover thatThey are indeed refugees and who are terrorists in Isis
I will be the fantasy you have always dreamed of!!!!!! SASHA ..:kiss

Very simplistic and PC view here Jorge. I wonder how many of the people shouting for governments to take more Refugees in, want them housed in their own neighborhood?

In fairness Natalie, a lot of them are putting their own lives on the line just so they can enjoy the fruits of the western world.

I know honey & I agree with all that you've written. An example of that is the boy on the beach, a devastating sad situation! Set up photo to tug at the heart strings of the world when the child, his brother & mother all died because his dad wanted new teeth!
The real refugees are getting lost amongst the wants of poor people with dreams of a better life.
Its money, power & greed that is at the root of all problems in our society.
No one in todays society should be hungry or homeless though regardless of situation.

As someone said earlier, how man treats there fellow man is beyond comprehension!

100% Agree Natalie, and I must say when I read the dad of Aylan was living and working in Turkey for 3 years I was a bit shocked. He has to live with his own guilt.

The western world has caused this problem to a large extent, and it's up to them to sort it out. Start by providing Aid to all the neighboring safe countries and make it clear to the refugees they are on there own if they try to move to greener pastures. This crisis has only got worse once the EU started to soften their stance on this, because every tom dick and harry is going to take his chances to live a more comfortable life.
ISIS are not a technological developed group. They can't make weapons or advanced communication system. There biggest weapon they have is the fear they can instill into people due to their barbaric executions all in the name of Allah!!
If you cut off their access to weapons, they would be very toothless.

I think the media has a lot to answer for as well, they has sensationalised a lot of stuff just to sell papers.

Cutting off new weapons to the region is a start but easier said than done.Russia will have its own agenda with eg the Assad regime. The Gulf Arab states will have their own agendas and people they want to support, China may have another view about who it might sell weapons to, in the dying days of the Hussein regime the armouries were thrown open and weapons taken and hidden .The place is already awash with small arms which can keep these conflicts going for years and if push comes to shove simple small weapons like basic machine guns can be made locally with simple tools. These conflicts have the potential to drag on for years and years.

They don't need advanced weapons or communication systems in these localised civil wars where no side has overwhelming power.
