D4 at the minute

I was once parked close to the RDS in Ballsbridge! Parking was not easy to find as it was early evening. I was told to ring 10 minutes before the appointment. When I rang I was told she was in Hanover Quay

I said that is not even D4 — It's D2! How the hell am I going to get to there in 10 minutes? She said "it is D4 and it is very close" I know that part of Dublin and I know were D4 ends and D2 starts and Hanover Quay is D2!

I set off in my car for D2 — it took 22 minutes to get to the car park on Chimney View. I parked the car and came out and rang again — 30 minutes had passed at this stage! She answered and asked what kept me? I told her traffic and distance! Anyway, one word borrowed another, she said she could not see me for the hour I had booked as she had another appointment so I said to hell with this for a game of soldiers and told her I was canceling.

Had she said she was in D2 near Grand Canal Dock in the first place I could have been at her apartment on time — Ballsbridge is nowhere near Hanover Quay.

when i see she is in D4 i assume its grand canal, only ever met one girl who was actually in ballsbridge

When I see D4 I always assume Grand Canal Dock or Barrow street.

Assumption — the mother of all fook ups

But then Barrow street is in Ringsend D4

Did you ask her, roughly where in ballsbridge she is? Maybe she would've said she's closer to grand canal than ballsbridge....

But if someone tells you they are in Ballsbridge surely the logical place to go to see them is Ballsbridge?

I'm all for not giving out the exact location until the last minute — but at least try and make sure the client is in the local vicinity and not half way across town when traffic is at its slowest!

Ok, i get you and i'm sorry it happened to you. But it still won't change a thing. Maybe in the future, ask the girl if she's closer to ballsbridge or to grand canal. That should give you an idea and i don't think it's a too nosey question to ask

Well, she was getting into a right strop! I was pissed off as I had just driven from D1 to get parked in Ballsbridge! I could have stayed in D1 and walked over the Hanover Quay instead of wandering around for an hour in the lovely Dublin rush hour traffic
