Everyone has their own preferred ways to communicate. Some are hard to get by phone but great on PM and vice versa.

I think some like to hear a voice before engaging at all as it gives a better feel for the type of person they are dealing with.

I would not give up without trying both.

But I do believe if you have booked by pm that they will still like to hear your voice so as to get a feel for you.
Lots of the ladies prefer to have a short chat with you, as the first few words will tell them alot about you , either to continue or cancel.
And in fairness you can,t blame them, they are the one,s taking the risk
