Background music during an appointment — is it a distraction or a turn on?

I have Danny Boy on my 1 hour 30 mins playlist and for some reason people find that off putting. I keep forgetting to replace that track

I always associate that song with American films that seem to think that it's a requirement at every funeral for a person of Irish decent, pisses me off!
