Doesn't really matter whether there is music in the background or not. It can be nice at times.
Myself and the lady can make our own sweet music

Some people have to have the last word,
but they don't actually want you to stop talking,
as they like the sound of their own voices too much.
I always lost music CDs I used for work. As luck had it, a cheap one I got as quick replacement when I was stuck touring in some town, was the only one that was with me a little longer, I had it for at least 2 months.
It's just so boring having to listen to same songs over and over again !!!
But one song was always making me laugh. Imagine me getting my fees while Jennifer Lopez was singing:
"You think I'm gonna spend your cash
I won't "
and
"Even if you were broke
My love don't cost a thing "
I really had to fight to keep a straight face on when that was playing.
Since a long time ago, I just have a digital radio and put on some music station like Radio Gold, Sunshine etc. Yeah, I get a little annoyed when the news are on but I'm never bored, it's lots of music and it's always a suprise what's next. Volume wise ? Reasonable low, just ambience.

'Radio on' is indeed an option sometimes chosen by escorts, which can lead to the carefully crafted mood being interrupted mid-way by bulletins about water charges and carnage on the M7.
While this may tickle the fancy of some punters' ('Please put on Newstalk baby') for the rest of us something musically inoffensive is possibly the least worst option ... but silence can be golden.
(is there an unofficial punting top ten? Blondie's 'Call Me' surely warrants a vote.)
