What is the expected forum membership (usefulness)?

I only respond thread that interest me.

Been a long time admirer of interesting posts, threads and membership banter over the years but have found lately
that threads have been to say......repetitive and boring...mostly!

So my question is ...is there a lifespan on "active" forum membership here?
When i joined i noticed certain members (a lot since been quiet on here lately) strike up great threads etc.
But then i ask myself.....maybe this is just some lifecycle thing as members come and go and its really
how you relate to the current crowd??

...friday rant maybe...any thoughts?

or see others doing so.
Or indeed see similar threads recurring.
