    Default How in the name of god can anyone watch a soccer match and take it seriously?

    So now 5m was paid to the Irish footie fed so they wont sue for Henrys hand of god stuff? Fuck the team though. They just wanted to get to the world cup. Soccer is now nothing but a joke.

    I wouldn't watch the Irish national team but club football is still good and it beats talking to the mongs in the boozer

    That is an issue, it's nor as bad in the PL as it is in la Liga, that's why I hate Spanish football

    Agents are definitely corrupt but club football doesn't have the elite group of men who have influence the way them FIFA boys did, they can only weild power inside of England (which is the only soccer I watch) and the fact that there's so many big clubs and owners vying for dominance I think they all keep each other in check

    Football is no longer a sport.
    Players no longer get to paid to play football, but get paid to act.

    I use to be a big fan of football, but the amount of money some players get and the amount of bribes that are going round has spoilt it completely.

    Part of the problem is one of culture.
    Rugby is a game for thugs; but played by gentlemen.
    Football is a game for gentlemen; but played by thugs.

    Football also lacks the ten-metre penalty of rugby which helps referees maintain control.
