but customers do have the right not to go to them also if they think they are too expensive. i see a few escorts have dropped their prices with the recession and greater parity between euro and stirling.

I myself proposed a punting moratorium back in May or thereabouts to drive prices down in this business. But I totally agree with you, it's not just escorts, but a whole host of business sectors who rip us off compared to what they charge in the UK and elsewhere. But at the end of the day, a fool and his money are easily parted, and until those who have their brains firmly located between their legs can no longer afford to subsidise prices that would be laughed at abroad, we may just have to grin and bare it.
My theory is that the same w***kers are responsible for all our woes.....Fianna Fail and their buddies in the construction, property, and banking sectors; get rich quick merchants who made money and spent it like there was no tomorrow and without a care in the world for the effect that their greed was having on others. They are the same shower who are now going to the government to get the taxpayer to bail them out. Well, there are at least 1900 less taxpayers in Limerick now and 5000 less nationwide per week to bail them and their public sector cronies out of trouble.
What you say about the French is also correct. If we were living in France circa 1789, 1830, 1848, 1870 or even today, we would use the brains in our heads to find a solution and we would'nt have to think about it too long or hard either.
So shop around or as they say, let your fingers do the walking, use up some shoe leather, and go whereever you have to, to get the best price.
And just a final thought. Countless generations both here and abroad, fought and died, struggled, campaigned, protested, marched etc. for the right to universal suffrage. Use the power of the ballot box and whatever economic power you have wisely and effect some change.

The arguments posted by numerous escorts re: extra costs here, travel, lodgings etc. are negated when they have different, lower prices for the north. I stay in Belfast regularly on business & know it to be even more expensive than Dublin for a hotel room. They have a shortage there & demand outweighs supply.
Charge what you like, just have parity between the Republic & north !

I'm in the UK next week again, go there regularily and always pay around £150/hr for an outcall to my hotel, now I have stated i do not agree with the analogy of comparing prices between Ireland and the UK solely because exchange rates have changed but I totally agree when there is a difference between an escorts rates for North and South!!

If escorts can charge a higher rate and still get enough business then they arn't going to lower their prices, not a chance. They will eliminate consumer surplus in whatever regions they work, simple as.
Possible solution, some escorts will actually accept sterling payments in the Republic, this will cost the punter less but I wouldn't imagine too many escorts will do this.

As for this that and the other the only people that are to blame are the people that are voted in to gouvern your country and mine and the rest of Europe - the parity is that there is very little difference as to what i charge in England as it is in Ireland or anywhere else.
I cannot really get too involved as im not a touring escort so i don't really know how it works with regards to how one decides what to charge - All i did was to check out what others did and do the same.......thats the way most do it.
When I work i go for 3 or 5 or 7 days for one client and the flight, hotel and my time are all paid for so i don't honestly know how the whole thing works so I am not going to argue the point.
