I don't think the new laws will make a lot of difference if the experiences of Norway and Sweden are to be believed. It was only ever quasi legal anyhow. You could always donate money in a charitable way as opposed to making a payment.

That's a good idea. I'm going to get myself a donation bucket, with a list of suggested donations and the appeal is for my further education.
