I prefer smoke and mirrors and muddying the issue.
And I am merely an interested bystander as regards June 1st anyway.

You are fight about the higher fine, and it does apply to NI. I dont know about a first offence.
Its a level 3 offence on the standard scale, which has up to a £1000 fine or up to one year in jail. Reference:

I don't think this will result in too many prosecutions. It will be impossible to prove. I don't even remenmer the law changing on kerb crawling, it just became illegal about 10 years ago and nothing changed.
I think the police cautoin will be the major weapon they use. Just sit outside a random brothel and pull over everyone who comes out. Thats what they use to deter kerb crawling in England, thats what the used for low risk offenders in operation Landslide. Its cheap and effective and needs no proof.
Worse than that it will be a press free for all.

Groundhog day for those of us who assumed it was illegal on our first visit.

I did firmly believe it to be illegal the first few times I visited!

I wonder how far this will be up the psni's priority list, as this is the time of year the north traditionally knocks the shit out of one and other and sets fire to the place?

    Real criminals we are though.....
The above post, and many post on e-i, is for humour and myrth and therefore cannot be taken as intelligent or well grammatically/factually engineered.

    This man is not clever

They may occasionally sit outside well known locations - they sit watching traffic for lo get enough sometimes , remember.
