the public in northern ireland will classify punters not as unlucky, caught in a random not so serious sex offence but rather as sexual offenders
their discriminatory powers are generally lazy having been brainwashed by years of sectarian struggle that makes only on /off judgements like terrorist/ non terrorist, protestant/ catholic, orange/green, republican/loyalist
so much dogma but all the result of skinner behaviorist conditioning with a righteous media lurking in the background expounding propaganda all over the place
I don't think the new laws will make a lot of difference if the experiences of Norway and Sweden are to be believed. It was only ever quasi legal anyhow. You could always donate money in a charitable way as opposed to making a payment.
The main problem in the North imho is not the new legislation but the intention behind it. The intention to crack down on escorting and indeed to crack down on anything not approved of by the various religious factions.
At the present time, escorting may be legal but a lot of other things related to it are illegal under old archaic laws. If, in both jurisdictions, they really wanted to crack down now, there is enough legislation to enable them to do so.
So the problem is not the new legislation but the pressure to crack down in some way.
It is easy to prosecute motorists, for example, but not so easy to prosecute those who break into our cars or houses or those who commit rural crime. There is a token crack down every so often but then things go back to normal.
Prosecuting and proving “escorting crimes” will not be so easy either and I can’t see how they can enforce it on an ongoing basis with the resources available in either jurisdiction.
