This is an escort community where I like to believe the people who are part of this community are much more open minded than your average joe in society. Most of you guys can be more free & honest here than you can in real life. Your also very well aware of stigma's in society towards our community, mostly us working woman & the implications they have on our lives. I hoped that this community that I am apart of would be more understanding to this vote & the struggle that gay people have. They arent asking for special rights, they dont want to be treated any different or better than you. They just want to be treated the same by therefore being able so show love & commitment & marrying their partners. Its love ffs, they just want to show love.
What business is it of yours that someone, somewhere, who you'll probably never hear of gets to show their love to each other & be able to celebrate it like me & you?

I just cant get what business it is of anyone but those getting married.
Of course I understand democracy ffs. I really just cant get why it bothers anyone else

Maybe I should have said I was disappointed in the no voters of this community but I didnt.
Probably the most heartfelt comment I've read on this forum. Hugs?

It is often difficult to understand why people would hold an opposing point of view to our own. Especially we have strong feelings of being right ourselves.

Im sorry but you must be a tad slow or something

The referendum was strictly about who in this country could have access to civil marriage. Not simply marriage.

Marriage you see has many different meanings. Not just what you personally think it means

Religious marriage is one thing. Civil marriage another. Marriage can also mean something totally different in context, such as music fusions which are a marriage of one type of music and another.

Or do you not recognise fusion music genres because you dont think music genres should be allowed to be married?

I get where your coming from but my point is its not MY business either because it doesnt directly involve me. No one should have the right to have a say in something that doesnt directly have an effect on their lives.
We are all made equal. Unfortunately society has got skewed over the centuries & has far far too much say in what others can do.
    The constitution needs to change.

I'll definitely be voting against that. Music genres can forever live in sin for all I care.

Indeed. But 30+% of people felt they do have a right to restrict what other people can do. You disagree, as I do. And we struggle to understand that point of view. But I would defend their right to hold that view, even as I disagree with it

I didnt realise I would be SO touched. I was driving through Dublin, stereo turned up singing in between listening to the votes come in & screaming out the window 'I love you Ireland'. Had many a lump in my throat & tear in my eye on saturday.
It was a great day for the human race.
    A wrong was made right.
