No matter what a person's religion(or label as I prefer), if it is their job and they signed an employment contract stating what duties their job would involve then yes they should. As see earlier posts when I stated about having to partake in tasks I didn't necessarily feel comfortable with because it was my job.
Yes, this may cause debate but I'm not sure about political storm. In the longterm I can not help(or hope!) that it evolves NI into a better place for everyone. NI is run by politicians who IMO are no better than dogs pissing on a tree to mark their territory. Its tribal politics and the real issues get left behind over nationalist Vs unionist bickering, with both sides seemingly happy to stall, delay, stop anything moving forward as they have too much too loose, mostly for financial reasons IMO.
Most people who vote in NI do so for the one side or the other, which is basically pre determined by the street where they were born(which in most cases doubles up as their religion). The only politicians who actually seem to want to move forward are the people without a hidden agenda, most often these are minority parties or independents who get lost in the sea of BS being spread by the main parties.
The sooner people in NI wise up to the facts and want to make NI a better place for everyone instead of staying stuck in the past the better. Thats why I feel this case could be an example for the way forward. We are a western, modern country(apparently!) who continually vote in people with draconian attitudes who are only out for themselves.
Well thats me informed lol
