A civil partnership is pretty much the same as marriage
I'm going to be voting that particular begrudging yes where it's 'yes but I also kind of don't like the state being involved in marriage full stop, also can we go into trans rights stuff now?
There are 160 or so legal differences. Including home ownership and familial ties to one another's children.
yes, I get all that, but specifically what rights are they being denied today? If the answer is "the right to get married", then what does that actually mean? If their legal rights are the same they why is the government wasting money for no reason in having this vote in the first place?
