Sadly, Nat, I wasn't drunk, so no real excuse other than to force myself to stay away from the forum for a while.
I don't think self-bans were available back then, not that I would have asked for one anyway.
I managed to last about 3 weeks, which was a bit of a record for me at the time. It's a bit easier now.
There are plenty of people adding to the Tribute thread, less so with the Amazing Pics, but Emma, WillieWacker & Joggon are doing their best
It's one of those anomalies with E-I(an there are plenty of anomalies with E-I).
The ability to deactivate your account should be easy enough to facilitate, instead of the self-banning request option,
or changing your password to something very random that you can't remember.(Anon's old trick but he still came back)
Also, a banned member's posts and account can disappear completely, when it suits, along with other posts that the owners don't like,
