Surely air coach is a private company and with modernisation Dublin Bus and Irish Rail has to embrace private enterprise like everyone else
    Seek and you shall find!

I won't be taking aircoach but I don't support the Dublin Bus drivers either. Strikes like this, create a demand for alternative services.

I'm having my turn for the last 3 years. Customers spending less money less frequently. Should I go on strike to get them comeing into the shop more often? Choosing to strike at a time that will cause maximum disruption, is shooting themselves in the foot.

I don't think striking solves disputes, a strike divides the public support. Irish bus drivers are the 3rd best paid in Europe, so they are well paid compared to some working in the economy, who work longer hours for less pay.

To those on the inside of such disputes the old adage
Stand up and be counted or sit down and be mounted comes to mind.
We can all afford to be critical when it's not our own terms, conditions and wages being threatened.
Most of us would quickly be singing a different song if our own interests were being encroached on.
