This was the girls first offence and they fully cooperated with the Gardai and admitted in court of accepting money for sex, a client was caught in the act with one of them on the premises too.
The jail term was harsh but says it was to send a clear message to other girls in Romania thinking its ok to come over here to start up such a business

To be given a jail term must have come to a real shock for them as both girls were in tears and who could blame them. Hopefully they'll be out in a few weeks.
I had the links to their profiles but one had paid for advertising in another city but unfortunately never made it there,
maybe the mods could give you further details if possible to anyone able to help as not sure how it works.

I have a sneaking suspicion (perhaps wrong) that of any European nationality, they tend to go to town on them if they hear Romanian/Moldovan.
Perhaps their mistake was in admitting anything but no doubt some sort of more serious charge was being dangled in front of them.
In these smaller towns (as in not city sized) the world and it's dog probably know your business.

It's disgusting that these girls have been sent to prison when real criminals are getting suspended sentences. Hope they are ok and get an early release asap

I have made this point somewhere before, girls will likely be put under severe pressure to incriminate the client and if naive and not tough enough will.
And the client might not have to be physically present to get caught up in it.
Give up the clients and face a lesser or no charge.
Don't and be charged with brothel keeping or something if 2 girls present.

that is not good for the client as escorts can always go back to their own country and forget it but what can the Irish clients do who are incriminated

Think the girls got the wrong judge on this occasion, a new judge there as the other man has retired

I know I'm a bit late coming to this, but I have a fair idea why this happened. Back in February there was a report in the local newspaper about an incident in that well known house. Can't remember exactly happened but a couple of Brazilian guys visiting the town called that house and the girls had to call the Gardaí to get rid of them. The guys ended up in court.
The girls were not arrested, sounded like they were rightly treated as victims in the case.
This case highlighted the fact the house was in use by girls so the town do-gooders started complaining.
The Gardaí and courts had to show that they don't turn a blind eye to what was going on and made an example of the two poor girls who happened to be there when they raided.
