    Early days yet, but if Ferrari keep this up, this could mean the end of the “free reign” race between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. It could mean team orders to Lewis’s advantage and Rico’s disadvantage.

    Great to see someone at least threaten to stop Mercedes dominance. Hopefully Vettel can keep it up, at least it will make the season more interesting to watch.

    • The circuit configuration has never changed, meaning the current 5.451-kilometre layout is the same as used in that inaugural race more than a decade ago. The layout itself reflects the shape of the Chinese character ‘shang', which stands for high or above.
    • In 2006, the Chinese Grand Prix was won by Michael Schumacher - his last victory [91st]in Formula One.
