I do not condone the death of this dog but I will be honest I don't really carte about it. I actually do like animals and would not hurt them but have no problem eating them. But I ask why does a beautiful pet dog champion hold more importance than any other animal. I am surprised you are upset, I don't think it is worth getting upset over. I said I loved dogs and thought it was awful, so imo killing pets is obviously not ok.

I’m not vegetarian, I don’t eat pork and eat less red meat than I used to. I always buy organic produce. I do buy leather shoes as there is no quality alternative in my experience. Sweaty feet are horrible. Eggs seafood milk. All of those too, I’m guilty but I do think they’re all better regulated industries than fur farms. I won’t link any horrible articles as you seem an intelligent informed lady. Look again next time you’re buying though. I’m sure something like these would look great on you.

I have a cousin who breeds dogs and she would show some at Crufts.
It is very cold bloodied and is about competition and money. The winners make a fortune from dog-food adverts.

It has also been suggested it may be an attempt to discredit Crufts.

I live in the countryside and I have always had dogs, but dog owning and dog breeding for profit are two different things.

In this particular case, the owners are saying that the dog was a beloved family pet as well as a show dog. You need to be a dog owner yourself to know how much a loss the death of a dog is. It is only an animal, but when a beloved pet dies its loss is sorely felt.

I probably lost a lot of money not showing my guy due to no breeding. They want to keep the championship pedigree along the whole line so if I didnt show my guy he wouldnt be bred off the ones where youd make money. I dont give a fuck though as its nothing to do with money for me.

By literal definition, you are absolutely correct, however people impose human qualities on an animal and therefore would regard this as equally malicious.

There does seem to be a lot of Facebook posts lately with naming and shaming those that have tortured animals. The other day, someone posted a photo of some chav that had cut off the ears and tail of someone's cat. Another douche bag had tried strangling a dog, sprayed it with hair spray and set it on fire! Fortunately, both animals survived, albeit heavily mutilated and maimed.

Murder my only be applicable to humans by definition, but it takes a special kind of twisted animal to do that to a creature. Of course, in this instance it would seem to be a killing to gain the upper hand in a competition rather than a 'sicko' killing, although in both instances, it shows little regard for life of a domesticated animal.

Crufts canine competitor Jagger was intentionally poisoned (poison sewn into pieces of beef that was fed to him) ,

fell ill and died before reaching Vet. Postmortem determined cause of death as poisoning.
