I wonder which forum she got that info from.Ruhama spokesperson Sarah Benson has told RTÉ News that on online forums, customers of prostitution in Northern Ireland are already planning to move their activities south of the border so as to avoid prosecution.

A charity that helps women affected by prostitution and trafficking says traffickers and sex buyers in Northern Ireland are planning to come south of the border once a new Stormont law criminalising the purchase of sex comes into force in June.
Ruhama do not help women affected by prostitution; Ruhama receive an obscene amount of Government funding (which is spent on “administration”) under the pretence of “helping women affected by prostitution”, and do nothing but make life miserable for persons whom choose to work in the Sex Industry of their own will. Furthermore, I recall reading an article on this very website (posted by either Curvaceous Kate or Laura Lee) which detailed of a lady who sought the services of Ruhama, and was turned away.
Ruhama spokesperson Sarah Benson has told RTÉ News that on online forums, customers of prostitution in Northern Ireland are already planning to move their activities south of the border so as to avoid prosecution.
It has been extensively highlighted that Ruhama (and TORL) spend more time on this website than the average client does.
I have one piece of advice for Clients and Escorts: anyone who has any advice with regards to how Swedish-style Legislation can be circumvented (or undermined), do not post it on the forum (for all to see) as if Ruhama/TORL or any Legislators come across such information, it could be used to strengthen and even draft additional Legislation/Amendments to penalize persons involved in this Industry.
The bill proposes criminalising the purchase of sex from prostitutes, especially trafficked prostitutes.
It is already a Criminal Offence to purchase sex from a person whom has been forced against their will to do so.
It guarantees that people selling their bodies will not be committing a crime.
Persons selling sex won’t be committing any crime (and are not currently committing any crime). However, virtually all other activities involved with “selling sex” will be criminalised, or will force sex workers into undesirable situations or leave them otherwise vulnerable.
Odds against you?

Couple of interesting points from the article:
''The bill proposes criminalising the purchase of sex from prostitutes, especially trafficked prostitutes.''
Ruhama/TORL's definition of trafficking (economic migrancy) differs considerably from the legal definition (coercive trafficking). If the Gardai already know who is coercively trafficked, why can't they take immediate action against the traffickers right now? If they don't know, then how can the purchase of sex from trafficked prostitutes be prioritised? Since the purchase of sex from a trafficked person is already a crime, what is the point of spreading police resources more thinly by criminalising consenting adults (who are in the majority?)
Just in case anyone missed it, NI had zero cases of sex trafficking last year.
''They are mostly from Sub-Saharan Africa where traffickers have duped them into thinking they will get respectable work in Europe.''
Where are these African ladies being advertised?
''It guarantees that people selling their bodies will not be committing a crime.''
Since every sex worker retains their own body following the provision of sexual services, we can only assume that this statement refers to people who sell their kidneys or other actual body parts.
I would suggest to Ruhama that they concentrate on compensating the women brutalised by their experiences of the Magdalene orders, rather than cynically concentrating on consenting adults.

African women advertising here are as rare as hens teeth.
Pity rte news didn't interview someone to dispute this nonsense.

Kevin Myers wrote a reasoned piece in the Sunday Times today supporting Kate McGrew and criticising the NCWI for attempting to link violence against women with sex work.
Sorry don't know how to provide link but worth a read.

It's very much as expected, no doubt they can't wait for the money that will spring from the state to 'assist' them to 'help repentant fallen women'! Their previous incarnation, well it's the same 2 orders behind both, used to get state subventions also when women were enslaved in the Magdylene concentration camps, they ran and of course in that case, they were also able to benefit from the slave labour of the women illegally incarcerated in them! And of course many dollars were made from trafficking new born babies to The States from those ladies and ladies in mother and baby homes!
Also please remember that some women were in these institutions as a result of rape and incest! and of course there was a direct feeder line into them from orphanages and of course some women got pregnant in them, where the only male contact, they would really have had apart from insane doctors, were insane priests!
Also they are really trying to subliminate trafficking and purchasing sexual services as the same thing into the public consciousness!
Oddly, I didn't see any RTE report on the wonderful SWAI press conference and call for some humanity to be introduced into the debate!
Ride them on the beaches!
