Oddly enough, cyclist advocacy groups have always been very strongly against cycling on footpaths as statistically it can be more dangerous at times e.g. cars coming out of driveways onto said path and foothpaths finishing with side roads at the side! I have very nearly been killed twice in both of these situations!
However where I live the roads in places are very narrow and can have 2 lanes in each direction and the footpath beside them might have absolutely nobody on it!

The Shinners have been quite strong in supporting the insane Swedish sex worker hating model and disgraced themselves in Nordieland in voting for it!
Lovely Joe's Socialist Party also support the sex worker hating madness!
People before profit and a handful of Independents, most notably, Claire Daly T.D. and Mickey Wallace T.D. have been very vocal in pointing out how completely insane it is and have done very good work!

So true, our politicians are so far removed from the reality of trying to survive in Ireland that they don't have a clue what's its like for the rest of us.

I made the decision a few years ago to get out and although things are better for me it broke my heart to leave Ireland and I deeply resent having to leave. Ok I could have stayed but I just couldn't bear to, Ireland is a great place but its being ruined and the mood is just so depressing.

The worst thing of all is that no matter who gets into power they will run through to form - they will line their pockets, hire their friends and relations, look after the powerful so called elite and s**t on the poor fools who voted them into power.

The last bit in particular sums up our Fake Socialist Party AKA The 'Labour' Party, destined to become at best the 4th party on the Irish political scene and maybe even fall well deservedly to 5th spot and remain there! Treacherous scum!

BTW watch out for the FAT Tax (tried already in Denmark wrt Fizzy drinks in particular and has been found to be an absolute disaster, penalizing low income families severely!)! Of course when and if they sly this one here, expect to be paying substantially more for your grub than any where in The EU!
Also a quickie will, sherry trifle, porter cake and raspberry and rum jam and chocolate liquors be now out of the reach of the common customer, the latter is already subject to age restrictions!
Basically, we are being misgoverned by a government of fascists and their self declared socialist enablers, and both sets of complete and utter Gobshites (whose mandate is long gone!) love social engineering, forcing people to do what they feel is desirable, while of course ignoring all their own rules when it suits like the true scum they are!
And also of course ignoring the facts placed in front of them that their daft laws are completely ineffectual and almost always serve to make things worse and cause huge suffering to ordinary people!

Our pig ignorant redneck law makers seem to think they can project us as a liberal progressive nation and get a whole load of taxes in absurd fines (which pay their wages and expenses BTW!) by adopting the models in other countries that have been proven abysmal failures! We are likely to be perceived as complete laughing stocks internationally! Of course adopting truly progressive models such New Zealand's pension scheme which insures everybody can look forward to a decent pension and also their model for sex work and sex worker protection, is beyond the dangerous redneck imbeciles who misgovern us!

Besides, good healthy fats don't make you fat. Excess or processed carbs do. I eat an extremely high Fat diet - I put Olive Oil, and Coconut Oil on everything and eat a tonne of nuts daily, but yet I've never been leaner.

I wouldn't praise the pension system of any country too much. I don't know enough about the Kiwi system, and it wouldn't be hard to be better than ours granted, but given a pension scheme is by definition a ponzi scheme and doomed to failure it'll have problems eventually.

Plus I'd be asking serious questions about where pension funds are invested. Government bonds from bankrupt nations... anyone?
