It kind of shocked me when I totted up the calories I'd consumed after a meal in McDonalds (I wouldn't ever eat there normally, I'd been driving for 6 hours without eating, and it was the only place I could find along the highways) and realized I'd consumed 1500kcal in a single sitting. A normal meal for me is about 300-500kcal, but I eat 6 times per day.
Related, this chain in the US serves burgers that can amount to 8000kcal in a single sitting. The side effects list is hilarious.
