I totally appreciate where you are coming from there. Personally, when I arrive with a lady who I have never met before I will play it by ear and follow her body language and how she begins to conduct the meeting - after all, I am a guest in her apartment. Having said that I don't recall any of the ladies I have met ever having to ask me for her gift before I received a kiss from her. In fact on more than one occasion I have been swept off my feet long before I have had a chance to put my had in my pocket.
