If you end up in this situation you should start with knocking on Paul Murphys door, then Richard Boyd Barretts. You would be an idiot to march up the Aras. I could point you towards some of the Shinners as no. 3 but im sure one of the two boys would get you sorted. This country was always corrupt. Just look at the recent TV drama, Charlie on RTE. But what some people forget is everybody was corrupt. If I can get out of paying for something I will. When our leaders tow the line & be upstanding citizens, so will I.

It's getting harder & harder to get away with anything in this country as we move more and more into a modern society.

Possible explanation is the the Property Tax is called exactly that a tax going to the central exchequer, while not happy most people accept there is little they can do. Water charges are being implemented by a semi private company that cocked up its relations from the word go looking for PPS numbers etc, the involvement of private business in the provision of water is what gets most people annoyed, and the fact that a large percentage of central taxation already goes to providing water to households.

The property tax did not affect tenants in rented homes, or council properties.
Not everyone who owns property is rich (negative equity).

The homeowners payed up as that is what they believe/aspire to (responsibility)
I'm not saying ALL the protesters are freeloaders, just that employers don't give days
