Longford any one got any info or advice about the place?

Can anyone tell me a little information about Longford I dont even think I even went there as a kids so I know nothing about the place, is there any nice places to eat there, whats the shopping like, is it easy to get around the rest of Ireland from there such as Galway, Dublin, Cork, Belfast.

Whats the night life like in Longford or surrounding places?

What is it like to work or punt there, what is the scenery like their and are there any beautiful places to do photos shoots there if so where and any photos please put them up?

Hi L V T I have never worked in longford town i have always worked on the out skirts of longford town now for the last 4 years i never had any problems working except for the odd few time wasters which every one gets every where the clientle i get come from surrounding areas i very seldom get any clients that come from longford town the clients i meet are gentlemen i dont have to tour around as i have all my regular clients here thats why i am here so long i dont normally travel to long ford town as i have no reason to as i am always traveling back and forward to mullingar and dublin as for the people of longford that i have met i found them to be very nice i have no problems with them as far as i am concerned longford is very handy to get to sligo galway athlone mullingar dublin also you can get from longford to belfast as clients i have met were passing by my way to go to belfast so i dont have any problems with longford as i say i dont work in longford town only on the out skirts of longford x x x

Longford is a good place, people are friendly and they are Travellers not knackers, Give longford and them a little respect please

What do you mean by that reply i think what chez is saying there is very friendly people in longford also there is travellers who also live in longford who are friendly we dont call them knackers their settled travellers but theres travellers liveing all over ireland not just in longford what is your problem with longford people

Yes I have chatted with the lovely Malinda a few times now and she tell me she is meeting some really nice guys there too and loves living there as many of the nicer Irish who I have spoken too. Meeting the lovely Malinda for drinks and hopefully a girly night out too soon

Ask Melinda, she tours a lot there and seems like a person that would be more than willing to help advise

One gets time waster in every place honey, not just where you are and I bet you get a lot less time wasters then I do. Yes it seems a great place to live due a number of factors and after all the messages and emails I got have to agree, such lovely people and after our chats I do include you in them honey and totally get why you meet so many lovely guys to have fun with there too.
Living by Longford you also get a little bit of verity too with the passing trade, what was it they say about verity being the spice of life. Loll

When the new laws come in its going to be a lot safer going to a small town then a big town or city!

The best thing in Longford is the road to Dublin

I left Ireland when I was around 18 years old but for the first 8 or 9 years I would come back on a regular bases but then only when there was a funeral but since coming back over 2 years ago and touring to soooo many place so of course I meet loads of people both in and out of this industry but one think that is totally bugging me and to tell the truth it’s starting to really piss me off. Wherever I go in Ireland and I ask people what a city or town is like, its the same shit they comes out with “it’s a shit whole” “it’s full of knackers” even when I go to my home town but then I am told “it’s our little shit whole” and again this is repeated throughout Ireland.

I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world including some third wold countries too but never have I heard a nation disrespect their own county like the Irish do, seriously guys how is such behaviour towards your own country helping the economy as I have heard so many say the same to so many tourist that come to Ireland too and I am talking about cities and towns all over Ireland?
And another point I would like to make about travellers is they believe in “family” and have you ever seen the amazing wedding they put on for their loved ones too, nothing knackering about them now is there and before anyone leaves any stupid comments about them getting drunk and fights bloody hell that happens all over Ireland so it’s not about the travellers, it’s about the “real knackers” from all walks of life!
Just want to end this by saying thanks for all the lovely messages in support of Longford and offers of help much appreciated so this alone puts a totally different spin on those who have posted negativity about their own county for the wold to see.
