We're all a cynical lot today, especially after that Lending Money thread. You need to be careful ACE, but there actually are decent people around and it just might be that the lady simply needed some local advice.
Can't go wrong with the Phoenix Park, if it's near enough. If you want any more suggestions, give us a hint on which area you're talking about.
James' Gate is a great visitor experience, but it's way overpriced. I second the Distillery, Zoo and Chester Beatty Library. The tour of Dublin Castle is brilliant.
