Let me tell you a story.

A while back, I got a text from a girl whom I knew to be a bit scatterbrained; lovely, but scatterbrained. She needed money for the rent, and she wasn't in Ireland at the time. So I transferred what she asked for by internet transfer to her bank account, for which she had to supply her real name and details. She promised to repay it "with interest".

After a couple of months, she was back here, and came for dinner. And armed with several bottles, to add to the several bottles I already had. And she stayed overnight, in part because neither of us was in any state to take her to her flat.

The next day, I don't think either of us have had such a fearsome hangover.

And, yes, she brought the whole amount in cash in an envelope and gave it so me. How many of you can say that an escort has paid for your time?

There are real people out there.

    ((more follows, perhaps))

There is no fixed sum achievable within a year, there are also plenty of variables and costs involved, which mean that even the high earners will have to pay out a good portion of her takings per year.

I am not alone in paying taxes as in Independent Escort. Not due to being virtuous or thinking I'm better then anyone else, but because I want a financial blue print, so I can get a better mortgage or a good credit card with a decent APR on it. We're not all faceless people who can just disappear financially for several years, we are regular people with regular lives.

So... sure it may be a scam, it may be an honest plea for help, but as Sophiex said, you should never lend what you can't afford to lose and that goes for lending out to family, long known friends or someone you barely know but click with in the bedroom. You have a brain, you have a gut instinct so use it, but don't make assumptions based on a job, as no two people are the same.
Well said kate, Post of the Year

Now, you couldn’t lend us a score

So glad I'm not the only person this has happened to. Learn from my mistake, boys & girls.

    Sounds very fimilar

To suggest escorts are in a particular category of their own is unfair.
Jesus wept, You must be a complete mug and your 'friend' obviously thought the same.

The same applies to all the other victims who have been cruely turned over and 'friendships' destroyed as a result

I lent an escort money on two separate occasions a few years ago, and was paid back in full both times, and received a nice gift as well, as a thank you. I had only met the lady in question a few times, but we did keep in contact by email from time to time, and I considered her to be a woman of integrity, and my trust was rewarded.

I have lent money to friends that I have known a lot longer than that escort, who didn't have the same integrity, unfortunately.
They did repay the loans, but it took a lot longer, and a few reminders, to get the job done.

There are chancers in all walks of life, and the decision to lend money to anyone is a matter of judgement and trust.
I would be just as happy to lend money to an escort that I know and trust, as any of my friends.

I see several very popular Escorts in England was caught for falsely claiming benefits including housing benefit amounting to nearly 40k stg and also for not declaring.

I don't follow what that has to do with the quoted post. You get crims and scumbags in all walks of life. Any number of professions have had members prosecuted for benefit fraud, it doesn't follow that the vast majority don't pay their dues, which seems to be what you were trying to imply.

I must be doing something wrong, because I've never had an escort ask me for a favour, let alone a 'loan'.

Or maybe I've only met the real professional ladies.
